About us

Situated just a 20-minute drive from the Roman City of Chester, Stonewood Country Lodge is set in an idyllic and peaceful countryside location.

The lodge is sited at Northwood Lodge Park. The park is only two-years-old and comes with beautifully landscaped gardens.

Once you've settled in you can explore what Kelsall has to offer - there are so many things you can do, including, walking trails, bike rides, dog walking, and even horse riding, which are all local.

There are also lots of other attractions nearby. Why not visit the wonderful city of Chester which is just a short drive away - offering a wide choice of high street shops, restaurants, cafes, and bars? The historic city has many things to see, including the famous City Walls, the “Rows”, Chester Cathedral, and much more. There is also the award-winning Chester Zoo or Blue The Planet Aquarium. If you want rolling hills and spectacular mountain views, why not visit North Wales which is only an hour away?

With a king-size bed, two singles, and a double pull-out sofa bed the lodge comfortably sleeps up to six people. The ensuite bathroom has a toilet and washbasin. The main shared shower room is located at the rear of the Lodge.

For the colder months, the lodge is heated throughout. Light the electric log-burning effect fireplace, snuggled on the sofa with a glass of wine and a good book. In the summer, the front sliding door opens onto the front balcony where you can sit, relax and enjoy the park views.

The kitchen has a kettle, toaster, four-ring gas hob, and a fridge freezer which means you can bring supplies and cater for yourself. You may enjoy eating at some of the local restaurants and pubs, The Royal Oak is only a 7-minute walk away; even better, we have struck up a deal so that all of our guests can get 10% off their overall bill if they decide to dine in their fabulous restaurant.

So, whether it's a romantic weekend away or just a few days' break, Stonewood Country Lodge is the perfect place to be.

“My partner and I stayed for two nights at Stonewood Lodge and we loved it, with fabulous walks and a great pub just down the lane. We will be returning for a much longer stay.”
